To all our dear cyclists.
I know cycling in the rain might seem not very appealing but lets learn from the Dutch, do it right and stop with excuses. In my cycling experience I found that waterproof trousers/jacket combo didn’t make sense for me, don’t get me wrong there is many people using them, but if you are on upright bike you don’t have to suffer using them.
I compare it to trying to put convertible roof up on on motorway, before you pull in and get the roof down all the leather in your car is ruined, whereas if you use poncho, you pull it out your side bag or bottom of you basket, throw it over and in 5 seconds you are not getting rained on, compared to 30-40 seconds it takes to put the pants/jacket, you are already wet. also poncho covers your shoes as well and it can cover your hands so there is no need for waterproof gloves, there is one downside however and that is that they are not suitable to use on bikes that are not offer upright cycling. The fact that I can react to weather changes so quickly is the best asset of poncho, as we know we can have sudden changes in weather, few minutes of rain followed by sunny weather is quite common and vice versa, with poncho you can take it off faster than it took to put it on, but if you wear standard rain gear there is big chance you keep it on for the rest of your journey, sweeting in your personal sauna made of unbreathable plastic because it is just too much hassle to take off or getting rained on because when you left your work it wasn’t raining and you don’t bother stopping to put the rain gear on.
In order to keep you handbag, shopping and other valuables dry use our handmade basket covers, as seen on the photo they are stylish and practical made of washable water proof material, they can save the day, matching waterproof seat covers are also available. See video on the bottom.
